Here’s a sneak peek at some new artwork for an upcoming project of mine. I’ve no title for it as yet (although I do like the title of this post) but they story, characters and artwork are all coming along. I hope to have the first part of this story out before Christmas.
The image was created on paper (bristol board) and sketched in blue col-erase pencil before being inked with a brush.
The artwork was then scanned into my computer and then layers of colour were added above and behind the artwork.
I usually set the artwork to ‘multiply’ in layer settings and this get’s a nice effect.
I’ll hopefully have more to show as the project progresses.

I’ve been working on loads of new books of late.

I’ve been producing work on Fiverr.com a website where people pay $5 for all kinds of things. On my part of the site you can pay $5 for a colourful cartoon sketch. I’ve had a few orders in my first month and I’ve really enjoyed the experience and challenge of sketching to order, something I’ve not done since I appeared at a comic shop in Halifax to sign copies of my comics.
A very nice person wrote a review of their experience of ordering a sketch of a cat called Chester. http://fiverr.jeremynoonan.com/?p=80
If you’d like to order your own sketch have a look at the gig on this link http://www.fiverr.com/users/cosmicapple/gigs/create-a-cute-animal-cartoon-character-sketch
The web store is up an running (although it may not be bug free yet).

There are loads of comics available, and these will be the last mini comics available before they are consolidated into one volume.

My latest comic is titled ‘Vic’ and it tells the tale of a little rabbit who is prisoner in a strange world. As is usual from me it’s strange and silly. Robin Etherington (Studio Blink Twice) was kind enough to write what he thought of Vic:
“Who IS Sparky? Why is Vic a prisoner? None of these questions will be answered in this delightful slice of existential rabbit-centric shenanigans.”
I decided for this comic to increase the size from the mini comics I often do. So Vic is now a staggering 12 by 12cm.. Wow! It’s also a massive 48 pages long and professionally printed. Thank you to everyone who’s already ordered a copy. The rest of you can order online here.
